The first catalogue of the polychaetes from Madeira is proposed, included a bibliographic revision, a study of the a material belonging to the Museo Municipal do Funchal (MMF), as well as, a material collected by the authors. A total of the 265 species are cited of which 8 are new from Madeira (Tomopteris niseni, T. septentrionalis, Glycera gigantea, Nephtys caeca, Eurythoe complanata, Lumbrineris cingulata, Scolelepis bonnieri and Melinna cristata). [sic]
