Nomenclature As a result of nomenclatural changes, the valid generic
name for all species formerly assigned to Sagartia is Cylista Wright, 1859:
Cylista troglodytes (Price in Johnston, 1847) (type species of Cylista),
C. ornata (Holdsworth, 1855) and C. elegans (Dalyell, 1848). The diag-
nosis of Cylista is the same as the diagnosis of Sagartia sensu lato (see
Carlgren, 1949). The generic name Sagartia remains valid, but applied
only to three species formerly assigned to Sagartiogeton, their current
valid names are Sagartia viduata (type species), S. undata and S. lacerata. [details]
