Taxonomic remark The name Asymetron was not established by Zietz, 1908. It is regarded as an “incorrect subsequent spelling” and is therefore unavailable following ICZN Art. 33.3. Zietz (1908, p. 288) wrote “Class, LEPTOCARDII (Lancelets). / Family, BRANCHIOSTOMATIDAE. / Genus, Asymetron, Andrews (1893)”, without showing any intentions to change the original spelling given by Andrews (1803). [details]
