Status The description of this species is extremely brief and incomplete. Since Lastočkin (1937) apparently regarded it as very similar to S. insigne Knöllner 1935, it is probably right to keep it as a 'species inquirenda' within Spiridion. S. scrobicularae has a median unpaired male pore, and might thus be closely related to (or synonymous with) S. modricensis (Hrabě, 1973) [details]
Taxonomic remark It therefore seems reasonable to conclude that S. scrobicularae is not identical to S. modricensis (as suggested by Erseus, 1979), and that it may not even belong to Spiridion. [details]
