Holotype ZISP ZIN RAS No 6903, geounit Kara Sea [details]
From editor or global species database
Acknowledgments Thanks to Olga Sheiko (ZIN RAS) for correcting this entry and providing type specimen information. [details]
Identification Koltun, 1959 (p.34-36) reexamined Rezvoi's material and concluded that it mostly concerns a Protosuberites (as Laxosuberites), contaminated by some spicules he believed to belong to Mycale (Mycale) lingua. Rezvoi's specimen is not a Mycale. On the suggestion of Koltun (l.c.) we reassign it to Protosuberites capillitium (Topsent, 1892). [details]
Spelling Cited as Mycale strelnicovi by some sources, due to the fact that Rezvoi spelled the name as such in the caption of the figure. [details]
