Diagnosis Shell solid, quadrangular in outline, quite swollen, slightly inequilateral, up to 15 mm. An obtuse keel runs from the umbo to the posteroventral end. Umbos swollen, quite separate, separated from the hing line by a triangular ligamental area covered by a brown layer of the ligament. Exterior with very fine, granulose radial ribs and clear growth stages. Colour white, covered with a yellowish periostracum which forms a few scattered hairs in the vicinity of the ventral edge.
