Authority Malmgren (if indeed the author of Maldanidae) is deemed to have created Maldanidae at all family ranks including subfamily Maldaninae (see Article 50.3). Arwidsson first used Maldaninae as a 'new' subfamily as indicated in the Hartman catalogue (p.449), but the authority for nominal subfamily of Maldanidae remains with Malmgren.  [details]

Diagnosis Both anterior and posterior ends terminate with plaques (cephalic and anal plaques). Anus dorsal. (after Fauchald, 1977) [details]
