Taxonomy Bouchet & Warén (1993) proposed the synonymy with Galeodea echinophora (Linnaeus, 1758), which does not exist in the Alboran Sea. So, either the locality data of Oocorys alboranensis are erroneous, or this is Galeodea rugosa (Linnaeus, 1771, the only species of this genus locally present.  [details]
