Grammatical gender Acromegalomma is neuter. Some original names erected comparatively recently in Megalomma had incorrect gender endings and were emended by Gil & Nishi when recombined. The emendments also should be used for future synonymy listings as Megalomma. The epithets affected are carunculatum for carunculata, inflatum for inflata, interruptum for interrupta, jubatum for jubata, and longoventrale for longoventralis. Additionally Megalomma 'lanigera' (Grube, 1846) should have been 'lanigerum' when recombined in Megalomma [details]
