Status There seems to be confusion over the identity of this species, and it was placed in synonymy (in WoRMS) with Aega bicarinata. Both Sars (1899), Kussakin (1979) and Bruce (2009) maintained the species as valid, the former having large eyes while the latter has small eyes (among other differences). [details]
