Distribution Carter (1873: 441) reported this species from HMS'Porcupine' samples taken between the Faroe Islands and the north coast pf Scotland. Since he did not repeat this in his paper on sponges collected by HMS'Porcupine' (1874, 1876), it is uncertain if this record is accurate. All other records of the species are from more to the south, off Portugal, Azores, Canary Islands and Selvagens. [details]
