Taxonomy Following Dayrat (2010), this becomes synonym of Discodoris maculosa Bergh, 1884, which itself is subsumed in “Tayuva lilacina of Mediterranean and Eastern European Atlantic”; however this synonymy is not unanimously accepted and the species is therefore treated here as "alternate representation". This species was misidentified as Discodoris fragilis by Ortea, Bacallado & Sánchez, 1981
