Antiid fishes are described and their distribution in East Africa and the Western Indian Ocean. Fifteen species are at present known from from the Western Indian Ocean, of which all but three appear to be endemic there. Of these two are desribed as new. All these are assigned to nine genera, of which one is defined as new, three of the genera have not before been found in the Western Indian Ocean, while four are endemicthere.
