A new species of cribrimorph bryozoan, Puellina saldanhai n.sp., is described from material collected in dark recesses of a submarine cave of Sagres area (southern Portugal). It is closely related to P. cassidainsis Harmelin, which occupies similar cave habitat in the Mediterranean, and with which Canarian specimens of Puellina saldanhai have been formerly mistaken. Differences between these species concern mainly the structure of the suboral bar and that of the ovicell.
