Sheath thick or thin, but always present, sometimes colored in yellow to yellow brown. Cells shorter or longer than wide, or isodiametric. Trichome not, or very slightly attenuated toward the end. Reproduction by hormogonia with heteropolar germination, hormocytes, or trichome disintegration [details]
