Biology Type of larval development unclear; suspected to be planktotrophoic because of the multispiral protoconch but this is not demonstrated because differentiated protoconch I and protoconch II cannot be seen. [details]
Diagnosis Shell 1.8-2 mm high, rather thin, with two protoconch whorls and about two teleoconch whorls. Sculpture of protoconch with a very characteristic pattern of 7-8 zig-zag spiral threads. Teleoconch with very rounded whorls and a sculpture of fine spiral cords, slightly thicker than interspaces, and very fine, orthocline axial folds which disappear on the abapical part of the shell. Aperture with thin, simple outer lip, columella slightly detached leaving an indistinct umbilical chink. Colour white. [details]
Distribution Ibero-Moroccan gulf, Strait of Gibraltar and the surroundings of Alboran Island, in 20-200 m; Gorringe and Ampère seamounts, moderately common in 130-485 m [details]
