GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-27. Proposer: Mark Dyer, New Zealand Geographic Board (NZGB); and Adam Greenland, New Zealand Hydrographic Office (LINZ). Year of proposal: 2014.     
GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: New Zealand research vessels "Taranui" and "Tangaroa". Year of discovery: 1966. History: Named from the New Zealand vessel HMNZS "Pukaki", which did research in this area (the correct orthography has macrons on the [u], [a] and [i]).    
Additional information (en): This feature is located offshore Banks Peninsula, on the central E coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It trends generally northwards from Mernoo Gap towards the S end of Hikurangi Trough where it joins Pegasus Canyon. The name first appeared on NZ
