GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): History: Named in association with Bollons Seamount, which was named after Captain JP Bollons, who made a substantial contribution to New Zealand's early maritime history.    
Additional information (en): This feature separates Bounty Plateau to the west from Bollons Seamount in the Southwest Pacific Basin. It is divided by a ridge or small seamount into two channels which are 2.5-10 km wide at their narrowest parts. Minimum depth (m): 3000. Maximum depth (m): 5000. Total relief (m): 2000. Dimension: 250 km x 150 km.
