Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1996. History: Named to commemorate a number of renowned Japanese writers, most of them having been active in late 1800's to early 1900's.

Additional information (en): This Seamount Province is limited to the area covered with a broad platform known as "Urdaneta Plateau" within the scientific community working on the Philippine Sea. It includes some ten seamounts located on the Plateau. It should be noted that a number of nearby features (Seamounts, Hills, Ridges), located outside the Plateau, have also be named after renowned Japanese writers in association with the Great Writers Seamount Province. Minimum depth (m): 1653. Maximum depth (m): 6090. Total relief (m): 4437. Dimension: 235 km × 205 km
