Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1997. History: Named after the Japanese writer and moutainer Kyuya Fukada (1903-1971), during the Showa period of Japan. His most known work was a non-fiction essay on the Japanese mountains ¿100 Famous Japanese Mountains¿, describing 100 individual mountains in Hokkaido, Honshu and Kyushu, including Mt. Fuji. Kyuya is the first name as, at that time, it was common and popular for Japanese writers to be called by their first names. This feature is part of the Great Writers Seamount Province.    
GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-30. Proposer: Japanese Committee on Undersea Feature Names (JCUFN). History: 2017.    
Additional information (en): This feature has an elongated shape and a steepness of ~ 9 %. Most of the Japanese writers relevant to the Great Writers Seamount Province were active in late 1800's to early 1900's. Minimum depth (m): 3598. Maximum depth (m): 5254. Total relief (m): 1656. Dimension: 35 km × 25 km
