GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Chinese research vessel "Haiyang Sihao". Year of discovery: 2008. History: Named after Wang Zhen (1271-1368 AD), a Chinese scientist during the Yuan Dynasty, to commemorate his great contribution to the development of ancient Chinese agriculture. He wrote a book "Wang Zhen Agriculture" in which agricultural production technologies such as crop planting and livestock breeding were summed up and improved. He also promoted the application of technologies to make productions better. |
