Additional information (en): This is an isolated feature trending NE-SW in Tasman Basin, approximately 380 km S-SW from the SW coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The name first appeared on Oceanic Bathymetry Series (OBS) chart 'Resolution' in 1972. Minimum depth (m): 3214. Maximum depth (m): 4850. Total relief (m): 1636. Dimension/size: 100 km x 25 km.

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): History: Named in association with Pickersgill Harbour, a natural harbour on the SW coast of the South Island of New Zealand, which Captain Cook used as an anchorage and named after Richard Pickersgill (1749-1779) of the HMS Resolution.
