Notes Additional information (en): This feature is interpreted as resulting from a rifting of the proto Kyushu-Palau Ridge. The single position is that of the shallowest point. All undersea features around the Kyushu-Palau Ridge are named after stars and planets. Minimum depth (m): 3795. Maximum depth (m): 4465. Total relief (m): 670. Dimension/size: 5 km × 15 km.

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1996. History: Named from its geographical location, to the northeast of Soeboshi Seamount. "Soeboshi" is one of the Japanese dialect names that means Alcor, which is close to the Mizar of the Big Dipper.
