Additional information (en): A seamount located southwest of the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Named for the USS Tanager (AM-5), which, as part of the Tanager Expedition, conducted biological surveys of the Hawaiian Islands in 1923-24. This feature name was proposed by the University of Hawaii at Manoa Department of Oceanography. Approved by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names at USBGN Meeting 273; 17 July 2018. |
