History: 2019.","Discoverer: Brazilian survey vessel ""Sea Surveyor"". Year of discovery: 2009. History: Named after Fernando Flávio Marques de Almeida (1916-2013), a Brazilian scientist and member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He worked for 51 years as a professor and researcher, and published many scientific papers. He was one of the first to study the geology of the Brazilian volcanic islands."
