Notes Additional information (en): Feature description: An undersea basin near the northern end of Te Houhou / George Sound. History/Origin/Meaning: Named in association with Mount Elder, which was named for EW Elder who assisted with surveys in Fiordland, and was accidently killed in 1965 while working for the NZ Forest Service.
