GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-34.1. Proposer: New Zealand Geographic Board (NZGB). History: 2020.    
GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): History: Named in associaiton with Ruatoria (locality) on the adjacent mainland of New Zealand. Ruatoria translates as 'the burial place of the chief, Toria’.
