Additional information (en): Adopted from NZGB Gazetteer. This nearly flat feature is located approximately 110 km offshore from the central W coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The name first appeared as Egmont Terrace on Coastal Bathymetry Series (CBS) chart 'Egmont' in 1966; subsequently altered to Taranaki Terrace to restore the original Maori name of the associated land feature. Minimum depth (m): 220. Maximum depth (m): 300. Total relief (m): 80. Dimension/size: 90 km x 65 km.
