Notes Additional information (en): This feature has an oblong shape. Betis ridge was described by Filipina marine geophysicist Jenny Barretto, in her paper "Benham Rise unveiled: Morphology and structure of anEocene large igneous province in the West Philippine Basin", published inElsevier journal. Minimum depth (m): 4133. Maximum depth (m): 4779. Total relief (m): 646. Dimension/size: 6 km x 19 km.     
GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-34.3. Proposer: National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), Philippines. History: 2021.    
GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Philippines survey vessel "Hydrographer Presbitero". Year of discovery: 2019. History: Named from the Betis tree (Madhuca betis), native to the Philippines and the leaves of which resemble the feature’s shape. It is a large tree and its wood is excellent for heavy construction such as for wharves, bridges and ship building.
