History: Named after Jorge Carlos Della Fávera (1940-2021), a Brazilian geologist from Rio Grande do Sul Federal University (UFRGS). He worked for Petrobras and as professor at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). He was a national leading exponent in sedimentology and stratigraphy areas, publishing books and scientific papers, and leaving valuable knowledge to the Brazilian scientific community. |
