Dill (1927-2004), a US marine geologist, a pioneer investigator of submarine canyon processes, submersibles, scuba diving for scientific purposes, and sea level history. He was co-author of the book “Submarine Canyons” with Francis P. Shepard of Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), USA.
