History: Named from the Rungus, an ethnic group of Borneo, residing primarily in northern Sabah. They have a distinctive language, dress, architecture, customs, and oral literature. They are renowned in Sabah as highly skilled artisans who traditionally make colourful beaded necklaces made from local plant seeds and clay. Rungus people have maintained their cultural and traditional beliefs. |
