GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Chinese research vessel "Haiyang Sihao". Year of discovery: 2004. History: "Yu Dai" means "belt decorated with jade" in Chinese and is taken from the poetic lines “Bu Zhi Guan Gao Bei,YuDai Xuan Jin Yui”. These lines belong to the poem book "To My Son", from the famous poet Han Yu, during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD).
