Notes Additional information (en): This feature was named by Dr N. Boutakoff in 1963. Minimum depth (m): 540. Maximum depth (m): 4770. Total relief (m): 4230. Dimension/size: 90 km x 4-6 km.    
GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-36. Proposer: Australian National University, Canberra. History: 2021.     
GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: French research vessel "L'Atalante". Year of discovery: 1999. History: Named from its geographical position as the feature is located south of Rivoli Bay in South Australia. Rivoli Bay itself was named in 1802 by French explorers François Peron and Louis Claude de Saulces de Freycinet, of the Baudin expedition (1800-03). It celebrated the French victory at Rivoli in 1797, and/or honoured the Duke of Rivoli who was an army associate of Napoleon Bonaparte in those battles near Verona, Italy.
