History: Named after “Mapulon”, the god of seasons possessing the key to the ebb and flow of time and the agricultural in Tagalog mythology. F. Landa Jocano, in the book “Outline of Philippine Mythology” described Mapulon as one of the lesser divinities assisting Bathala. He is the husband of Ikapati, and the father of Anagolay.
