GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Indonesian research vessel "Baruna Jaya I". Year of discovery: 2019. History: "Seiram Dera" is an Anus term (Papuan language), formed of two words: "seiram" meaning 'dragon's carcass' and "dera" meaning 'canyon'. Local residents believed that, at that location, there was a dead dragon which later formed a canyon.
