Port Erin Marine Lab remembered

Location: Port Erin Marine Laboratory, Isle of Man
Event Type: Meeting
Event Date: 2006-06-30
End Date: 2006-07-02

Event Description:
Not with a whimper, but a bang: help to celebrate 114 years of marine biology in Port Erin

Sadly, the Port Erin Marine Laboratory will close in September 2006, after 114 years of teaching and research. However, we are not going to have a wake, but we are going to celebrate over a century of positive achievement. Come and help us if you have been associated with the Laboratory as staff, student or visiting worker, come and join in the fun.

Our plans are in an early stage. The celebrations will be from Friday 30th June to Sunday 2nd July 2006. The focal point will be a marquee on the grass outside the laboratory, which will contain a bar!!

As details are firmed up, updates will be posted on the web site , and also sent to those expressing interest. If you have ideas or suggestions, let us have them.

To plan effectively, we must have some idea of potential numbers as early as possible. So if you hope to come, please let us know ASAP, at (if technologically challenged, write to 2006, Port Erin Marine Laboratory, Isle of Man IM9 6JA). As plans progress updates will be sent to all who respond.
