Marine Biodiversity, Biodiscovery and Biosecurity: Discovering and Protecting our Oceans' Bounty

Location: Darwin, NT, Australia
Event Type: Meeting
Event Date: 2005-07-11
End Date: 2005-07-13

Event Description:
The 2005 AMSA conference in Darwin will explore the topical and timely themes of marine biodiversity, biodiscovery and biosecurity - among other specialist areas of marine research. These areas of marine science encompass all disciplines and all scales of operation and have important links to current planning, management and policy processes in Australia and globally.
This three-day event promises an exciting arena in which to share your research with peers, meet new professional allies and enjoy the hospitality and unique environment of Australia's tropical north.

AMSA2005 offers expert plenary sessions and the opportunity to present oral and poster papers in any related marine topic. Oral papers will be organised into thematic sessions. On Wednesday there will be a one-day Census of Marine Life Workshop.

The conference organisers invite those with marine science interests to attend and present at this year's AMSA meeting.

The conference occurs over the three days immediately prior to the Australian Society for Fish Biology meeting and offers a rare occasion to attend both meetings.
