MANUELA Workshop: Joint Analysis of MANUELA database

Event Description:
General information

This meeting is organised in order to analyse the central MANUELA database. During the kick-off workshop, following topics were put forward:

· deep-sea meiobenthos
· large scale patterns in marine meiobenthos
· nematode biomass spectra
· species assembly rules
· universal effects of disturbance on meiobenthic communities

Of course, the possible research topics are not limited to the list mentioned above. If somebody has suggestions to add extra topics, feel free to mention.

Location

The workshop will be organised at the Marine Biology Section of the University of Ghent. This is located in building S8 on „Campus De Sterre”, Krijgslaan 281 in Gent. One large meeting room and some smaller rooms will be available for splitting up in smaller working groups. Email and internet facilities will be available, however participants are requested to bring their own laptops, memory sticks...

Accomodation

Accomodation will be in Hotel Chamade (http://www.chamade.be/index.asp), located close the railway station and within walking distance of our lab.
Booking of rooms should be done through Isolde De Grem (Isolde.DeGrem@UGent.be). Payments for rooms is to be done at the hotel desk. Room prices will depend on the number of participants.

Workshop Fee

The workshop fee will be 100 euro. This will cover the welcoming reception and registration event, lunch and coffee breaks and a joint dinner in town. Payments can be made by VISA during the welcome and registration reception or on our bank account. Details will be provided later.
