World Conference on Marine Biodiversity

Event Description:
The World Conference on Marine Biodiversity will be held in Valencia (Spain) from 11-15 November 2008. A call for sessions is open until 1November 2007. Registrations will open after this deadline. More information is available at the conference website. http://www.marbef.org/worldconference.

Aims:
  • To review the current understanding of marine biodiversity, its role in marine ecosystem functioning and its socio-economic context

  • To assess current and future threats and potential mitigation strategies for conservation and regulation of marine resources

  • To identify future research priorities

  • MarBEF members are allowed to book the costs of the participation of 4 persons in the Valencia conferences on their MarBEF account up to a max of 2,000 € per person (if the remaining budget allows to do so).
