Abstract
The authors study the Rotifers found in two series of brackish-water samples in the vicinity of Bruges. There are 19 species present in the samples, including one species new for Belgium; a new subspecies is described. All the taxa met with are new for the regional fauna of Bruges, and one is new for the Flemish region of Belgium. The problem of the origin of Rotifera and other planktons is discussed.
