Le Laboratoire d’Océanographie Biologique de Banyuls (LOBB) est une Unité Mixte de Recherche (UMR 7621) du CNRS et l’Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI). Il fait partie de l’Observatoire Océanologique de Banyuls - Laboratoire Arago et rassemble 54 personnes. L’axe de recherche général de l’unité concerne l’étude de l’impact des processus biologiques sur la composante marine des grands cycles biogéochimiques , principalement en milieu côtier.Cet axe fondateur du laboratoire est décliné dans les deux équipes du LOBB autour de 6 thématiques de recherche dont une transversale aux deux équipes.
