Diagnosis Test free, ovate to spherical, 0.08 mm to 0.5 mm in length; wall thin, proteinaceous, with fibrillar ultrastructure, produced by endoplasm and not by the ectoplasmic pseudopodia, may have some agglutinated matter; aperture terminal, rounded, with entosolenian tube projecting into the interior and serving as a sheath for the pseudopodial trunk; granular pseudopodia elongate and anastomosing, with prominent streaming; reproduction by asexual schizogony, and sexual production of amoeboid gametes, haploid gamont, and diploid schizont generations morphologically similar.
