Diagnosis Test narrow, fusiform, rounded in section, inflated and globular to ovate chambers increasing in height as added, triserially arranged in the early stage at least in the microspheric generation, later in a twisted biserial arrangement, final chambers more loosely biserial, sutures oblique, distinct, depressed; wall calcareous, hyaline, finely perforate, optically radial, surface smooth to longitudinally striate, proloculus may have one or more long apical spines; aperture a loop in the face of the final chamber, with narrow incurved lip at one margin, and the opposite margin bent inward to form a broad folded toothplate that partially closes the opening, lower part of toothplate attached to the preceding chamber wall and long free part with serrate margin.
