Diagnosis Leptometra differing from L. phlangium in having cirri proportionately shorter and not tapered distally, so that the distal portion appears stouter. Distal cirrals shorter; L/W ratio of cirrals in distal third ranging from a third longer than wide to wider than long. Shorter cirrals with distal aboral edge often somewhat swollen, producing slightly scalloped aboral profile. [details]
