Taxonomy Protodriloides was originally placed in Protodrilidae, until Purschke & Jouin (1988) created a new family, Protodriloidae, for the genus [details]
Type designation Jouin (1966) did not designate a type from between P. chaetifer and P. symbioticus. Fauchald (1977:155) appears to have subsequently designated P. chaetifer as the type. [details]
