Etymology Not stated, but clearly for honoring the well-known biologist Otto Andreas Lowson Mörch (also seen as Mørch when using the Scandinavian o-slash character. Mørch was Danish, as was Levinsen. [details]
Spelling Levinsen (1884) used the spelling Mørchi. It is not to be transformed to 'moerchi' as this is not an umlaut, and is a Scandinavian usage of the o-slash character, rather than a German dieresis usage. Mørch & Levinsen were Danish. A number of early authors incorrectly used "mörchi°, and a number of modern authors incorrectly used "moerchi" when using combinations within Laeospira. [details]Unreviewed
