Biology Type of larval development: short planktonic, non-planktotrophic as usual in Vetigastropoda and Patellogastropoda. [details]
Diagnosis Shell small, up to 4 mm long, with oval contour, quite elevated profile, apex overhanging posterior margin, moderately coiled. Sculpture of numerous high radial costae narrower than interspaces, alternating stronger and weaker, and comarginal lamellae much narrower than interspaces and overrunning the costae, forming small projections at the intersections. Slit very deep, extending over 1/3 of the distance to apex; the edges of the slit and selenizone are characteristically raised into projecting lamellae. Colour white. [details]
Distribution Eastern Atlantic, only known from the Lusitanian seamounts: Gorringe (moderately common in 96-485 m), Ampère (moderately common in 129-325 m), Josephine (rare in 290-335 m). Mediterranean (nearshore to ca. 50 m). [details]
