Nomenclature Hartman (1959: 56) replaced junior homonym Hermione, with Hermonia. As the change was published in a catalogue, there is no description, and no etymology. The name appears to be made-up, without a prior existence. [details]
Synonymy Hermonia (replacement name for junior homonym Hermione) was synonymised with genus Laetmonice by Pettibone, 1966 [details]
Type species Pettibone (1966) gives the type species as the original name Halithea hystrix Lamarck, 1818, not the subsequent name of Hermonia hystrix as presented in the Hartman catalogue [details]
