Description Colour in life: pale grey with irregular brown markings, uniformly pale grey below.
Some with commensal polynoid Hololepidella nigropuntata (Humphreys, 1981).
Also recorded in SE Arabia, Ceylon, east Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China, south Japan, south Pacific Is? And Hawaiian Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Lakshadweep (India) (Sastry, 1991); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
General distribution: East coast of Africa to Hawaiian Islands (Sastry, 1991); tropical, Indo-Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-15 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
